Cornelian Service Corps

Mission Statement

Photo of college-aged male with his arm around a younger boy who wears a red hat and glasses. Both wear red shirts and lanyards, and appear to be at a service event.

Welcome to the Cornelian Service Corps, the center for service and social justice at Rosemont! Rooted in the mission of Rosemont College, the Cornelian Service Corps, a part of the Office of Campus Ministry, offers opportunities and provides resources for members of the college community to engage in meaningful service.

As participants in the legacy of Cornelia Connelly and the Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus, the CSC challenges the college community to a “love full of action,” inclusive of all and courageous in promoting social justice.

The CSC will educate the community on issues of justice, coordinate service initiatives, and provide reflective opportunities, ensuring that compassion and action are integral to the Rosemont experience

Get Lost!

Hey Rosemont…get LOST!  Students committed to service and interested in a more engaging, deeper experience can sign up for weekly service at sites around the Rosemont and Philadelphia community. Volunteers must be able to do service two to three hours a week, for 10 weeks throughout the semester, and participate in reflections and larger meetings with their service group. Sign-ups usually occur in the first two weeks of a semester – get in touch for more information!

Applications for LOST Weekly Service will be available a few weeks prior the start of the next semester. Contact for more information.

Immersive Service Trips

The CSC offers students alternative break experiences for those wanting to more fully immerse themselves in communities across the nation and abroad.  Groups spend a week or longer living in the places where they are serving while learning about the local culture, history, and traditions.

We firmly believe that service by itself is not enough – that we must always be engaged in learning about the issues that plague those less fortunate than us so that we may strive towards social justice for all. Therefore, the Cornelian Service Corps hosts the Social Justice Series, events held throughout the year focus on different issues of injustice and examines the role we may have in combating them.

The Cornelian Service Corps strives to offer service opportunities open to all members of the Rosemont community and accommodating of different schedules, interests, and abilities. We are dedicated to offer at least one service event a month for those interested in taking an afternoon or evening giving of themselves for others and living out the Rosemont mission[BROKEN LINK]
