Rosemont College Announces New Online PK-12 English Language Learners Certification
Rosemont College is proud to announce a new PK-12 English Language Learners (ELL) Certification for educators. The new program – offered fully online – can be completed in as little as one year.
Educators can add the certification to an existing Instructional I or Instructional II Certification by taking 16 additional credits, or six courses. The program prepares educators to teach non-native speakers of English to become proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
“The new ELL Certification will allow educators to increase their marketability,” said Denise Falconi, EdD, Director of Teacher Education and Certification Officer at Rosemont College. “A certification in PK-12 ELL will enhance teachers’ ability to work successfully with English language learners in the classroom and enhance their career opportunities across public, private, and independent schools.”
The new program is one of four Pennsylvania Department of Education certifications available on the graduate level at Rosemont College. Courses are offered in a traditional or accelerated format in late afternoon and in the evening to accommodate working professionals’ schedules.
