Farewell to Coach Lynn
On November 30th, RoCo said good-bye to Lynn Rothenhoefer, our long-serving Director of Athletics. Coach Lynn is now the Associate Dean of Students at Immaculata University.
Coach Lynn’s tenure with Rosemont began in July of 1999 when she joined the Rosemont community as the head coach of the women’s field hockey and lacrosse teams. In July of 2000, Coach Lynn became the Sports Information Director for the College. Two years later, she became the Director of Athletics, a position she held for 15 years.
In that time, Lynn was the driving force behind the success of Rosemont’s Athletic Department. Among her many accomplishments including serving as the National Chair for the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Committee and holding every executive position in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, Lynn oversaw the expansion of Rosemont’s athletic offerings from 6 women’s teams to 13 teams (7 women’s and 6 men’s teams) during the transition to co-education. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Lynn for the way in which she guided the College through that significant growth in a short period of time. She has also been instrumental in developing the current Athletics Plan, through which the College will be adding an additional 5 sports teams over the next 5 years, for a total of 18 teams.
Yet, Lynn’s greatest accomplishment at Rosemont College is one that far exceeds the list above. It is the time, energy, and enthusiasm that she dedicated to her student-athletes over the past 18 years. Her ability to mentor and inspire our student-athletes to become the best versions of themselves both on and off the playing field truly defines what is means to be a coach.
Thank you, Coach Lynn. We will miss you!
