Marshall Warfield has worked in words for over fifteen years: editing journals and professional projects (including standardized tests), writing essays and poems, and consulting on various artistic endeavors. He earned his B.A. in Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University and his M.F.A. in English from the University of Pittsburgh. Warfield enjoys working with artists, and past projects include coordinating the interactive visual art show Resonance with sculptor and painter Angela Colasanti, and being a script assistant on the film Lopapeysa for filmmaker David Kessler. He is currently writing poems for Kessler’s new film The Pine Barrens. As a teaching faculty member of American University and Drexel University, Warfield organized writing workshops and panels for students. Recent lectures include “Intertextuality in Creative Writing” at the 2012 English Association of the Pennsylvania State Universities conference, and “Worries of the Poet, Tools of the Essayist” was a well-received part of Hippocampus Magazine’s 2016 conference on creative nonfiction. He was Associate Director of the Drexel Publishing Group before Directing the MA in Publishing Program at Rosemont College. His poems have appeared in Paper Nautilus, Transient, Marathon, Clover, and Poems for the Writing: Prompts for Poets.
