My coaching style is based on holding the players to a high standard, and constantly making them better. I was lucky in my last two years at Rosemont to have teammates and coaches that weren’t okay with me being a “lesser” version of myself.

Faith…. “’Cause I gotta have faith, faith, faith…” I am a product of the ‘80’s, a time where many of you reading this where yet to be born; this line is from the chorus from George Michael’s single from his first solo studio album in 1987. I was a sophomore at West Chester University, and daily I counted on that phenomena – FAITH: defined as “complete trust or confidence in someone or something; strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.” How do I celebrate my faith? Here’s my journey.

I think this is the time of year that faith comes alive. There’s something in the air that reinvigorates the soul and prompts us to do more. For me, it is about giving back. My faith is definitely based on working with and for others. This is something that my mom instilled in me very early on and is still present in my life.

This is what drove my focus. I was transformed from a D- student to one with an A+ average. I became the valedictorian and an example for others. A lot of kids liked me and started to study with me. Eight of us became close and became the best students in our classes. Not all of them were in my grade; some of them were seventh grade, but we still studied together. I would help them, but it was not easy.
