Cornelian Scholarship

Students who have exemplified excellence in academics and a commitment to social justice are eligible for the full-tuition Cornelian Scholarship. Students must have a 3.5 weighted GPA and 1220 on the SAT or 25 on the ACT and attend a Catholic High School to be considered. Students who apply with the ROCO Option (submitting SAT/ACT scores are optional) are also eligible.

The scholarship is named for Cornelia Connelly, the founder of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, and covers full tuition and fees at Rosemont College.

Finalists will be notified from the office of undergraduate admissions and invited to campus for a brief interview with the selection committee in February.

Submissions Due Date – January 21, 2019

  1. Essay- 500 words on the following topic: The Cornelian mission is based on persistence and courage in promoting justice with compassion. Describe a personal experience in which you promoted a cause that you felt was just. What was the result? What did you learn from this experience?
  2. Letter of recommendation (1) from a source other than that used for your Rosemont College application. This could be a counselor, teacher, or a member of the community who is familiar with your academic work and/or your community service work.
