Political Science

The political science program provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become effective leaders in an increasingly global society.

The major develops students’ analytic and communication skills, and offers students coursework in the United States and international politics, creating well rounded graduates. The political science program offers a pre-law certificate for majors and non-majors. With the certificate program, students will develop the skills necessary to become productive lawyers and leaders in the political field.

The department also offers a minor in international relations which is a program designed to prepare students for living and working in a globalized world.

Academic Opportunities

The career focused nature of the major prepares students for future professions in a variety of fields. Students gain an education that is focused on analytical and leadership skills. Classes focus on issues both ethical and moral. Students interested in law will have to opportunity to choose the Pre-Law track of study to prepare them for future ventures. The small classroom size allows for passionate group discussions and one-on-one access to faculty.
