Aaron Pinninti and Archana Ganta, both Rosemont Class of 2017, graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine this spring and will prepare to start their residencies this summer.

Aaron will join the Surgery Residency Program at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in July 2021.

"I knew from early on that I wanted to be a physician but only decided during my third year of medical school that I wanted to go into surgery," said Aaron. "The complex patient course and ability to make a profound impact on quality of life are some reasons I chose surgery."

Archana will join the Family Medicine Residency Program at Sutter Health Family Medicine in Sacramento, CA, in July.

"I'm pursuing family medicine because of the ability to take care of the entire family, the diversity of pathology and being able to follow patients from birth to end of life," said Archana. "I have wanted to be a doctor since high school. Rosemont and the science program have been instrumental in my path to becoming a physician. Dr. Skokotas has guided me and helped me in many ways. I’m so thankful for the supportive environment and opportunities that Rosemont offered!"

Aaron notes that Rosemont also helped him on his journey toward becoming a physician.

"The power of small taught me to be assertive and seek out opportunities to grow as a student and as a person," he said. "Having the ability to communicate with my professors and fellow peers, all from different backgrounds, prepared me for my medical career and helped me form bonds and communicate effectively with my patients. Furthermore, at Rosemont, I met my best friends who have supported me throughout my journey."

Dr. Skokotas, Associate Professor of Biology and Biology Discipline Coordinator, was a mentor to both Aaron and Archana while they attended at Rosemont.

"Congratulations to our science students' success in reaching their career goals!" she said. "It's been a joy to watch them navigate through their academic journey from their undergraduate years at Rosemont and now in their residency programs. I am so proud of all their accomplishments!"
