John Solewin, Director of AdmissionsThe Rosemont community welcomes John Solewin, Director of Admissions, who joins us today!

“I was drawn to Rosemont because I am passionate about the power of small, mission-driven liberal arts schools,” he said. “I really admire Rosemont's mission to develop open and critical minds and meet the ‘wants of age.’ My mother graduated from Rosemont in ‘81, my brother-in-law is a product of the wonderful graduate school, and I am proud to continue this legacy as Director of Admissions.”

John comes to Rosemont from Ursinus College, where he served as Senior Associate Director of Admissions. Prior to Ursinus, he served as Director of Applicant Experience at Thomas Jefferson University and as Director of Admissions at Chestnut Hill College.

“I am very much looking forward to becoming immersed in the campus culture at Rosemont by connecting with faculty and staff, meeting students, and attending campus events,” he said. “It is clear that Rosemont is a close-knit and welcoming community, and I am excited to be a Raven.”

John started his career in admissions while he was a student at Cabrini University as a graduate assistant for enrollment management in 2011. After he graduated, he took a position as an enrollment counselor at Arcadia University then returned to Cabrini as an admissions counselor in 2014. Over the next several years, he rose through the ranks and advanced to Associate Director of Admissions at Cabrini in 2018.

“When you work in admissions, you get to introduce students to four of the most exciting and formative years of their life!” he said. “During my time in college admissions, I have enjoyed connecting with high school students and their families and seeing them succeed throughout their years in college. I am excited to show prospective students all the amazing academic and extracurricular opportunities available at Rosemont.”

John was a double major in history and political science at Cabrini and earned a Master of Science degree in organizational leadership from Cabrini. Other fun facts about John:

“I used to run cross country and track in college (although you can't tell now!). I still enjoy running, and I'm hoping to participate in the Broad Street 10 miler this Spring. I also enjoy spending time with my wife, Rosemary, and son, Harrison. We have a goldendoodle named Hudson who I am sure you will see on campus soon.”
