Welcome to Bill Wilkinson
Katie DuBoff - January 6, 2023
The Rosemont community welcomes William (Bill) Wilkinson as our new Vice President of Finance and Administration, effective January 3.
Bill joins Rosemont after a distinguished 40-year career at Temple University. Most recently, he served as Senior Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration in the Office of the Provost – a position he has held since 2016. In this role, he prepared and developed the provost’s budget of ~$345 million for all direct reports, developed and monitored budgets for the Schools and Colleges totaling ~$530 million, chaired the monthly School and College Business Manager meetings, and prepared funding plans for capital projects. Bill also served as financial and planning liaison with Temple University’s Japan Campus and as a member of the Board of Directors from 2013-2016 of Temple University Educational Support Services for the Japan Campus.
"In addition to his accomplished career in higher education finance, Bill is a visionary leader who shares my enthusiasm for Rosemont’s mission and values," said Rosemont President Jim Cawley. "I am looking forward to his contributions to the College, particularly as he joins us during our strategic planning process. He will play an instrumental role with the senior leadership team as we define a vision for Rosemont’s future. I also want to thank Laura Whitney for serving in this role on an interim basis since early November. Laura will remain a part of the Rosemont community as a valued member of our Board of Trustees. Please join me in congratulating her on her new position as the Chief Financial Officer at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford."
"I'm really happy to be joining the Rosemont team," said Bill Wilkinson. "During my first week, and in my few visits to campus before the break, I have been very impressed with the atmosphere on campus. Rosemont is a close-knit community where everyone knows each other. Everyone has been helpful and the commitment to our students is very apparent. I'm looking forward to getting around the campus and meeting everyone. Rosemont's mission and history is incredible and I am excited to be here at such an important time as we develop a strategic plan for the continued success of the College."
Prior to Temple’s Provost Office, Bill served as Director of Finance and Operations for Temple University, Ambler. In this capacity, he developed and executed budgets of ~$10 million, managed incentive models for the Ambler, Center City, and Harrisburg campuses, and managed day-to-day administrative operations and campus projects on the Ambler Campus.
During his time at Temple, he also held roles as the financial manager for the Office of Student Affairs, College of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Dentistry where he oversaw budget preparation, monitoring, and projecting expenditures across those units.
Bill earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from LaSalle University and completed numerous courses in finance, management, and leadership through Temple’s Office of Non-Credit and Continuing Education.
