Kathleen DeLitta Named Interim Director of Athletics

Kathleen DeLitta, Interim Director of AthleticsPresident Jim Cawley has named Kathleen DeLitta, Assistant Director of Athletics and Senior Women’s Administrator, as the College’s Interim Director of Athletics. DeLitta will replace Phil Miller, who recently resigned to take a position at another institution. Miller’s last day at Rosemont will be January 31.  

Kathleen came to Rosemont as the head women’s soccer coach in April 2021 and was named assistant athletics director and senior women administrator in August 2022.  

“I want to thank Phil for his service to Rosemont and wish him well in his new role,” said Jim Cawley, president of Rosemont College. “Kathleen has significant coaching and leadership experience, and I am confident that she will step in and do a wonderful job during this transition while the search for a permanent athletic director is underway.” 

“I want to thank President Cawley for this opportunity,” said DeLitta. “Athletics are an important part of Rosemont’s community, and I am excited to continue working with the coaches, staff, and students in this role as interim director of athletics to provide a great student-athlete experience at Rosemont.” 

Kathleen has coaching experience at the professional, collegiate, and club level. While at Rosemont, she has recruited students nationally and internationally, managed team budgets and fees, worked collaboratively across the College to ensure student academic performance and personal development of student-athletes, and served as compliance officer responsible for following NCAA rules and procedures for eligibility and Title IX.  

She is currently an Olympic Development Program Coach for the state of New Jersey and in her thirteenth season as a head coach for Rancocas Valley Soccer Club. Kathleen also spent nine years at Rowan College at Burlington County as the head women’s soccer coach, the sports information and game day coordinator, athletic specialist, and an admissions counselor from 2012-2021 where some of her key responsibilities involved recruiting student-athletes, overseeing team budgets, and managing game day events to ensure the highest student-athlete experience. 

Kathleen’s other experience includes three years as the assistant coach for Philadelphia Lone Star FC, a team in the Women’s Premier Soccer League, as youth development program coordinator and trainer for the Hamilton Wildcats Soccer Club from 2007 to 2014, club recreation coordinator and coach for the Burlington Township Soccer Club from 2009 to 2011, and coach and character of champions instructor for NextGen from 2012 to 2017.

In addition to her experience, Kathleen also holds a USSL National C License, United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma, and a Goalkeeper Level 1 certification. She attended American Public University where she studied management with a concentration in leadership. 

Kathleen lives in Burlington, New Jersey, with her husband, David, and twin sons, Aidan and Jackson. Her oldest son, Nicholas, currently serves in the United States Army.
