2006-2007 Season Overview The 2007 softball season has come to a close for the Rambler softball team. The Ramblers ended their season 1-27 overall and 0-22 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference. Though the Ramblers did not have a winning season by record, they made many improvements and were competitive with many of the teams they faced.
The Ramblers welcomed back the coaching staff of head coach Joe Long and assistants Larry Cooper and Jami Hughes. Returning players included seniors Anne Blessington (Holland, PA/Archbishop Wood), Sharyn Cieszynski (Trevose, PA/Archbishop Wood), Alicia Clayton (Feasterville, PA/Archbishop Wood), and Jen Wood (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan), junior Heather Kocher, and sophomores Eilise Blessington (Holland, PA/Archbishop Wood), Danielle Dinger (Bensalem, PA/Archbishop Ryan), Jessica Muff (Upper Darby, PA/Archbishop Prendergast) and Jessica Stefanik (Marianapolis, CT/Marianapolis Prep).
Newcomers this year were sophomores Jacquy Blevin (Upper Darby, PA/Upper Darby) and Tammy Do (Philadelphia, PA/Maria Gorretti) and freshman Janell Clark (Philadelphia, PA/West Philadelphia). Cieszynski and Kocher led the team as captains this year.Statistically, the Ramblers hit .187 (112 for 607) as a team with a .253 on-base percentage. In the field, they had a .856 fielding percentage. The Rambler pitching staff had a combined ERA of 8.39 allowing 148 earned runs.
Kocher led the team in hitting. As a leadoff hitter, Kocher had a .288 (19 for 66) batting average and a .299 on-base percentage. She notched 3 RBIs and had 3 stolen bases. Not far behind was Clayton who hit .242 (15 for 62) with a team leading 6 RBIs and 5 doubles. In the field, Stefanik had a team leading 123 putouts. Her fielding percentage was .964, the team best.
