Reference

8 computers in the Reference Room, 2 in the Lobby, and 1 on the second floor, near the Reading Room; internet connectivity only. These computers are for access to TRELLIS, and for access to the Internet for the purpose of research and information retrieval. They are not configured for any other application; there is a b/w laser printer in the Reference Room.

Computer Lab, Lower Level

12 Windows PC computers, one with mechanical enlarging for visual assistance, one with enlarging software for visual assistance; Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Suite; b/w laser printer; internet connectivity. These are provided for student use in preparing research and class work, typing and printing papers and theses, and academic study. Student workers are stationed to monitor computer use, and to provide assistance. Personal use, such as Email and web surfing, is expected to be kept to a minimum; academic use will receive priority.

Room 111 - Digital Graphic Arts

21 Apple iMac computers for use in Graphic Arts, Web Design, and Publishing classes; Adobe Creative Suite 3; Macromedia Suite; scanner; inkjet printers for printing project drafts; scan station; b/w laser printer; internet connectivity. Computers are equipped with CD/DVD rewritable drives; Reservations for a semester are made through the Registrar's Office (x2305). One-time or short-term use is arranged through the Information Technology Office (x2976). The room is kept locked at all times; access must be requested from Public Safety or Information Technology. Graphic Arts students may request access from Public Safety (ext. 2554).

Room 112 - Digital Video Editing

10 Apple iMac computers for digital video editing; Final Cut Studio; Computers are equipped with CD/DVD rewritable drives; Reservations for a semester are made through the Registrar's Office (x2305). One-time or short-term use is arranged through the Information Technology Office (x2976). The room is kept locked at all times; access must be requested from Public Safety or Information Technology. Digital video editing students may request access from Public Safety (2554).

Room 109

3 Apple iMacs and a special color printer for exclusive use by Graphic Arts Students preparing final projects. The Instructor and the Information Technology Office must coordinate requests for the use of this room.

Room 114

10 Windows PC computers; Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Suite; b/w laser printer; This room is available for use by members of the Rosemont College community whenever the building is open; Reservations for a semester are made through the Registrar's Office (x2305). One-time or short-term use is arranged through the Information Technology Office (x2976); Requests for additional technology (Instructor's laptop, projector, SMART Board) must be arranged through the Media Services Office (media@rosemont.edu) at least 2 class days in advance.

Room 115

Student Academic Support Center; 10 Windows PC computers containing specialty software for Tutoring and Advising; contact Joanne Conlon (x2366) for Resource information.

Lawrence Hall

Second Floor

Room 208, The Conwell Multi-Media Center (CMMC) provides 8 Apple iMacs and 4 IBM machines; two scanning stations and printer access. The CMMC will be open for use as long as the building is open and there are no scheduled classes; Reservations are made through the Registrar's Office (x2305). Requests for additional technology (Instructor's resources, projector, etc) must be arranged through the Media Services Office (media@rosemont.edu) at least 2 class days in advance.

Third Floor

NOMAD integrated computer/projector/vcr/projector/document camera, sound system; Use of NOMAD technology requires a brief orientation session, and must be arranged through the Media Services Office (media@rosemont.edu). Use of technology requires at least 2 class days advance notice.

Second and Third Floor

SMART interactive board on each floor; Use of SMART technology requires a brief orientation session, and must be arranged through the Media Services Office (2278)

Global Curriculum Room; Sympodium (inter-active SMART inter-active computer/touchscreen, integrated projector, DVD/VCR, sound system); wireless mobile cart equipped with 10 notebook computers, Office 2003 Professional; wireless internet connectivity; b/w laser printer; Reservations for a semester are made through the Registrar's Office (x2305). One-time or short-term use is arranged through the Information Technology Office (x2976). Use of technology must be requested in addition to the room reservation. Use of SMART technology requires a brief orientation session, and must be arranged through the Media Services Office (media@rosemont.edu).

Media Services

Media Services exists to serve the technological needs of faculty, staff, and students at Rosemont College. Requests for media equipment should be made in writing, at least two class days in advance for best service. Acceptance of reservations will depend upon equipment availability.
Media Services hours are Monday through Friday, 8am - 4pm, weekends and nights as needed.

Such set-ups may be handled through Media Services, and may also be found permanently housed within the "smart classrooms" in Lawrence Hall (rooms 206 and 306) for easy access.
