The Communication major or minor builds on the theoretical base received from the more traditional English courses with their commitment to in-depth reading, scholarship, and creativity. The communication courses emphasize speaking and writing fluency, an understanding of the history and impact of mass communication, and the development of skills essential for the professional communicator.
Ways that students in English, Theater, and Communication have taken part in internships and study abroad:
Internships have been done at Running Press, Shooters, WPHI 103.9, Jane Dystel Literary Management, KYW 1060, Lippincott Williams and Wilkins, Clear Channel Communications.
Students have studied abroad at Trinity College, Dublin and the University of London.
