Early Assurance Program
Rosemont College and Drexel University College of Medicine have joined together to offer an early admission assurance program to qualified undergraduate students. Spend four years at Rosemont College and then continue your studies at one of Philadelphia's finest medical schools.
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- SAT score at or above 1300 for the combined critical reading and math sections (the writing section will not be considered) with no single score below 600;
- Rank in the top 10% of high school class;
- Full academic high school course load, including three years of foreign language study;
- Minimum high school GPS of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale;
- Personal interview at Rosemont College;
- Recommendation from Rosemont to be interviewed by Drexel University College of Medicine;
- Fulfillment of academic and supplemental criteria while at Rosemont, including:
- Maintenance of 3.5 GPA
- Minimum score of 9 in each of the MCAT sections
- Completion of American Medical College Application
To apply for the Early Assurance Program, submit a complete admission application by December 1. A complete application includes:
- Completed application form
- Official high school transcript
- $35 application fee
- Two letters of recommendation, at least one from a science teacher
- Completed personal essay
- Interview by Rosemont admissions counselor
Once accepted to Rosemont, program candidates must also submit a completed Drexel University College of Medicine supplemental application to Rosemont by January 15.
Fast Track Program
The Fast Track Program allows qualified students to enter Drexel University College of Medicine after three years of undergraduate study at Rosemont. And undergraduate degree will be awarded following the successful completion of the first year of medical school. Candidates must have an SAT score above 1360 for the combined critical reading and math sections, with no single score less than 560, (the writing score will not be considered) and must have satisfactorily completed four years of mathematics, English, and three years of science (at least one semester of each of biology, chemistry, and physics) in high school. All other eligibility requirements are the same as those for the Early Assurance Program.
Pre-Professional Health Program
Students who do not qualify for the Early Assurance or Fast Track Programs can pursue a career in medicine by taking advantage of the p re-medical advising program offered by Rosemont. Rosemont's pre-med program is open to any student, and a high percentage of graduate go on to medical school or other health professions immediately following graduation.
