Major Requirements:
- Visual Culture of the West I, and II (ARH-0175 and -0176)
- Early Christian and Medieval Art (ARH-0230), Early Christian and Medieval Art: Crafting in Clay (ARH-0233) or one course in medieval art.
- The Art of the Italian Renaissance (ARH-0255), the Art of the Northern Renaissance (ARH-0260)
- Mannerism and Baroque Art (ARH-0265) or one course in Mannerism, Baroque and/or Eighteenth Century Art
- One Course in Modern Art
- History of Art Criticism (ARH-0475) (ideally in senior year)
- Research and Methodology (ARH-0470)
- One Studio Art Course or History of Art Course with a studio component
- 2 or more Electives
Minor Requirements:
The student pursuing a minor in the history of art takes five courses or 20 credits within the discipline. Visual Culture of the West should be among them. Students choose the remaining history of art courses to suit their curricula and interests, in consultation with the Discipline Coordinator.
