- Author of works on medieval architectural criticism and nineteenth century medieval revival.
- Co-Director of Mediterranean Studies Summer Program in Messina, Sicily. The Sicily program is an annual, month-long visual arts residence program sponsored by the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and in cooperation with the University of Messina, Sicily, which has run every June since June of 2000.
- Co-Coordinator of Rosemont College Summer Program in Granada, Spain. The Granada program is an annual, month-long visual arts program sponsored by the Mediterranean Studies Association and administered by Rosemont College. It runs annually during the month of July.
- Member of Pennsylvania Humanities Council, Commonwealth Speakers Bureau, to deliver lectures throughout the Commonwealth on the topics of medieval pilgrimage and visual culture of Ireland.
- Member of Editorial Board of Mediterranean Studies Journal.
- Recipient of Rosemont College Connelly Grant (2004)
- Recipient of Summer Travel Stipend form National Endowment for the Humanities (1997).
