Degree Requirements

Major Requirements for a B.A. in Religious Studies

In addition to meeting the course requirements for each respective major, all students must also fulfill the General Education requirements for the Undergraduate College. The Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies requires 120 credits. 

General Education Requirements 57 to 58 credits

Six credits of coursework required for the Religious Studies major may be applied to General Education requirements.

Required Courses 36 credits
RST-0120 Introduction to Catholic Thought 3 credits
RST-0250 Christian Ethics 3 credits
RST-0400 Research Seminar 3 credits

Eight Religious Studies electives including 1 course in Scripture 24 credits

Religious Studies elective courses are chosen in consultation with the student’s academic mentor.

Required Supporting Courses 3 credits
One course in Philosophy 3 credits

Electives

The remaining credit hours are electives and can consist of Religion courses, but should not be limited to this particular discipline.
