Religious Studies

As of today over 85% of the world’s population identify with a religion, and religion is affecting political and historical events around the world, particularly in the Middle East. As we continue to grow and become more international, it is important to have a basic understanding of the world’s

major religions and their influences.

The courses in the Religious Studies field provide students with two subgroups of religious backgrounds. The first looks at the Bible from a scholarly viewpoint, taking into consideration that main concepts and stories from scripture, historical context, authors, and ways in which the Bible influenced other aspects of life. The second introduces students to the rich historical roots and traditions of Rosemont College in the Catholic faith. With the Religious Studies field you’ll learn to recognize the similarities, learn from one another, and improve your own worldview.
