Just a reminder that the Rosemont College MFA in Creative Writing Program is having a series of talks during the first week of classes to kick-off the Fall 2011 semester. If you have a class that night, you'll be first meeting in your classroom (the Novel Craft course will meet in the auditorium) and then coming down to Lawrence Auditorium for the talk. After the talk, you'll be returning to the classroom for the remainder of that evening's class. Friends and guests are invited to attend the talks; also, if you don't have a class on one of the nights, you are still strongly encouraged to attend.

The talks are designed to be 15 minutes or so of talk, followed by 15 minutes or so of questions/discussion, so please come prepared to ask these writers anything you'd like to know about their writing, writing in general, and/or the writing life. Also, they'll most likely have books for purchase.

  • Tuesday, September 6th, 6:15 - 6:45, Lawrence Auditorium

  • Wed, September 7th, 6:15 - 6:45, Lawrence Auditorium

  • Thur, September 8th, 6:15 - 6:45, Lawrence Auditorium

Mock Caldecott, Printz, and Newbery Awards & Graduate Student Meet & Greet

6:00 PM
Location: Kistler Library

The Mock Caldecott, Printz, and Newbery Awards Committees have been working tirelessly to nominate and vote on hundreds of titles. How closely will their choices mirror those of the ALA? Join us and find out.

This free event is open to all graduate students - in addition to announcing the winners, it is an evening for graduate students and faculty to come together -- meet new students and re-connect with others.

Unfortunately, space does not allow for guests.
