History of News Reporting

Wednesday, October 26th
6:30 p.m. in Lawrence Auditorium

How have the ways journalists find and share information changed over the last century? How have new technologies, more interactive forms of communication, and the 24-hour cycle affected news reporting? What does the future of journalism look like, and will traditional print newspapers be part of that future?

The “History of News Reporting” panel discussion will explore these questions and more. The panelists will include Philadelphia area reporters and experts:

  • Jenice Armstrong, Daily News Columnist and contributor on NBC’s “The 10! Show”
  • Ian Bush, anchor, reporter, and editor for KYW Newsradio
  • Dr. Susan Jacobson, assistant professor in the department of journalism at Temple University
The discussion will be moderated by Lynn Rosen, director of the graduate publishing program for the Schools of Graduate and Professional Studies.

There will be time for the audience to ask the panelists questions, and refreshments will be served. This free event is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the public. No pre-registration is required to attend.
