Diane Dalto, currently on Mayor Nutter’s Cultural Advisory Council, spoke at Rosemont's 90th Commencement on May 11. Dalto is largely credited with making the arts the focus of much of Mayor Edward G. Rendell’s revitalization of Philadelphia. Now available is her address to the graduates.

Each spring, Rosemont College alumni are invited to vote to fill open positions on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. This year's election runs April 17 to May 15, 2013. There are five open positions, four representing alumni of the Undergraduate College and one representing alumni of the Schools of Graduate and Professional Studies.

The Institute for Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility at Rosemont College, in collaboration with the graduate Leadership program, is pleased to announce Ellen Daly as the second leader lecturer for the 2012-2013 academic year. Daly will present “Giving Voice to Values: Maintaining an Ethical Organization” on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Kaul Hall at Rosemont College. The lecture is free and open to all.

The Rosemont website has gotten a face lift! Numerous Rosemont students are featured on the website, which is sure to draw the interest of prospective students. Plus, faculty, staff and students should find the site more user friendly. Thanks to the many students, faculty and staff who helped with the project. The Institute awarded fall 2012 research grants to Steven Alessandri, associate professor of psychology, and Francis "Brig" Bowe, director of undergraduate accelerated business programs.

Liz Coyne became the eighth woman (9^th overall) to enter Rosemont’s 1,000-Point Club, and is the first student-athlete to reach the 1,000-point milestone in only her second season of competition.

Rosemont College starts off the summer by offering retreats for talented writers and authors wishing to refine and enhance their skills and immerse themselves in their craft. Participants attending these creatively stimulating and intensive training programs can choose from weekend, weeklong or combination sessions led by respected professional writers and instructors.

Jane Golden, founder of the Philadelphia Mural Arts program, will be the featured speaker at Rosemont College’s annual Presidential Lecture Series, scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, at 7 P.M. Golden’s lecture, which is free and open to the public, is titled "A Conversation with Jane Golden: Public Art and Social Change."

Rosemont College is again participating in the annual recycling competition, Recyclemania, and has expanded several waste elimination initiatives on campus designed to actively promote the concepts of reducing, reusing and recycling to staff and students.

nemnet, the National Employment Minority Network is hosting a diversity career fair at the Newark Academy in Livingston, New Jersey from 12 - 2 p.m. on February 9. Over 40 public and private schools will be recruiting for open positions in the education field.

Kathleen O’Neil, president and CEO of Liberty Street Advisors, a leading national corporate governance and strategy firm, will lead a panel discussion at Rosemont College’s McShain Auditorium on November 15 at 7 PM, entitled “Ethical Blind Spots – When Leaders Fail Ethics.”

Rosemont College was asked to participate in the making of a block for a quilt to commemorate 150 years of the SHCJ in America. All of the schools and institutions belonging to the SHCJ are represented in the quilt. Cathy Fennell, exectutive director of the library, created the Rosemont College block, which is the first block on the third row.
