Every aspiring writer dreams of the day they sign their first contract with a major publishing company. For many that dream takes years to realize; for some it never happens. But in recent months, that dream has become reality for several graduates of Rosemont College’s publishing and creative writing programs within in a few months of their graduation.

Rosemont College starts off the summer by offering retreats for talented writers and authors wishing to refine and enhance their skills and immerse themselves in their craft. Participants attending these creatively stimulating and intensive training programs can choose from weekend, weeklong or combination sessions led by respected professional writers and instructors.

The Institute for Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility at Rosemont College, in collaboration with the graduate Leadership program, is pleased to announce Ellen Daly as the second leader lecturer for the 2012-2013 academic year. Daly will present “Giving Voice to Values: Maintaining an Ethical Organization” on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Kaul Hall at Rosemont College. The lecture is free and open to all.

Three Rosemont College seniors were honored February 11, the last Rosemont home basketball game of the season. Derrick Carter, Justin Chaney and Tremell Green were on Rosemont’s premiere men’s basketball team, which took the court for the first time on November 19, 2009.

Rosemont College is again participating in the annual recycling competition, Recyclemania, and has expanded several waste elimination initiatives on campus designed to actively promote the concepts of reducing, reusing and recycling to staff and students.

Publisher’s Weekly reporter Gabe Habash recently interviewed Anne Willkomm, director of Rosemont's graduate publishing program, about digitial technologies' impact on the publishing industry, and how Rosemont's program is rising to the challenge.

Ashley Montecchio saved her best for last and helped Rosemont rally for a 70–67 victory over Keystone College Monday night that earned the senior from Sun Valley High School an exclusive place in the history of the women’s basketball program. Going into the week, Montecchio was ranked 1^st nationally in points scored per game in NCAA Division III.

Pulitzer prize winning journalist and author of Enrique’s Journey, Sonia Nazario, will be speaking about her book and current immigration issues at Rosemont College on Monday, November 26. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Professor Varimbi is remembered by generations of Rosemont students as an inspired and gifted teacher and mentor.

Kathleen O’Neil, president and CEO of Liberty Street Advisors, a leading national corporate governance and strategy firm, will lead a panel discussion at Rosemont College’s McShain Auditorium on November 15 at 7 PM, entitled “Ethical Blind Spots – When Leaders Fail Ethics.”

Rosemont College is pleased to announce Huguette Despault May’s exhibit of the Hawser Series from November 8 to December 6, 2012.

May began this suite of twelve large-scale drawings in 2006 focusing on a single hawser – a massive rope used to tie a vessel securely to a dock or haul it while at sea.

The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its 2012 men’s soccer end of the year awards. Rosemont players garnered seven spots in the first and second All-CSAC teams and Rosemont’s head coach was named Coach of the Year for the second time in four years.

Rosemont students and staff recently spent two weeks teaching English to high school students in Tanzania.

Rosemont students recently traveled to France and Spain to experience El Camino de Santiago.

On Saturday, May 12th, members of the class of 2012 became the newest Rosemont College alumni.
