The Institute for Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility at Rosemont College, in collaboration with the graduate Leadership program, is pleased to announce Ellen Daly as the second leader lecturer for the 2012-2013 academic year. Daly will present “Giving Voice to Values: Maintaining an Ethical Organization” on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Kaul Hall at Rosemont College. The lecture is free and open to all.
Daly is a senior manager of ethics and business conduct for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) business area, and is responsible for effectively implementing the Lockheed Martin Ethics and Business Conduct Program.
"Lockheed Martin (LM) has implemented a robust ethics program that mitigates risk to the company, improves the culture of trust in the organization, and protects our values and reputation," says Daly. During the lecture, Daly will provide an overview of the Lockheed Martin’s ethics program including samples of ethics awareness training utilizing techniques described in Mary Gentile’s book, Giving Voice to Values.
"Ellen Daly brings a unique combination of theory and practice to her current role. She is committed to creating a culture based upon ethical conduct and sound business practices. Daly also understands that the business of ethics is good business,” says Dennis Dougherty, dean of graduate and professional studies.
Prior to her role at Missiles and Fire Control, Daly was the ethics and business conduct director for Lockheed Martin, Electronic Systems, Global Training and Logistics (GTL). GTL had over 10,000 employees working in 400 locations throughout the United States and in over 50 foreign countries supporting 2,600 programs.
In January 2007, Daly joined the Lockheed Martin Ethics organization from the IS&GS Internal Audit Department where she held the title of Ethics Officer for the IS&GS Readiness and Stability Operations (RSO). Daly implemented the ethics and business conduct program as part of the integration of PAE and Eagle Group during her tenure at RSO.
Prior to Audit, Ellen held various positions in the contract compliance and finance areas over her twenty year career with Lockheed Martin.
Daly was born in Philadelphia, PA. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA.
Due to limited seating, reservations are required.
The Institute for Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility was launched in August 2011. Its aim, closely related to the historic mission of Rosemont College, is to understand and promote the essential connection between ethical leadership and social responsibility. Under the guidance of its director, Dr. Alan Preti, the Institute works toward this goal through research and scholarship, teaching and practice, and leadership.
