Students who are interested in exploring the field of health services are invited to apply for a paid summer internship through the SUMR (Summer Undergraduate Minority Research) program at Penn. Students are paired with a senior fellow and work on three-month research projects on subjects varying from medical, economic, and social issues that influence how healthcare is organized, financed, managed, and delivered.
Duties include working with Penn faculty members on one or two projects, attending weekly lunch meetings with program staff to discuss projects, final presentations, attending two academic conferences, and taking part in various extracurricular activities and social functions.
