Painter and publishing grad student Karen Kappe Nugent, placed third in the painting category in the Art of the State: Pennsylvania. The exhibition is recognized as the official statewide-juried competition for Pennsylvania artists. It is the 46th year for this prestigious exhibit. Kappe-Nugent's oil painting, titled “Winter Tea in Kennett” is one of only 137 pieces selected from 1,933 entries to the competition.
The 46th annual exhibit can be seen at The State Museum of Pennsylvania through Sept. 8 and includes 137 works of art by 131 artists from 31 counties.
