Posted: April 29, 2013

On Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Rosemont College Graduate Publishing and Creative Writing programs will host the first annual Rosemont College Book Festival. Admission is free and there is plenty of fun to be had by the whole family including a special workshop for children, ages 5 and up, by Philadelphia Stories Jr, from noon – 1 p.m. and writing and publishing workshops by Alison Hicks and Curtis Smith.

“This event will provide local and regional authors, small indie presses, and literary journals the opportunity to market and sell their books and magazines to the public,” said Anne Converse Willkomm, director of the graduate publishing program.

The Rosemont College Book Festival offers an opportunity for festival-goers to meet and work with fantastic authors, listen to original readings and check out some remarkable booksellers, publishers, and literary magazines in the community and surrounding area.

“This is the perfect venue for authors and small presses to spread the word about their work,” said Carla Spataro, director of the graduate writing program. “Local writers will also have an opportunity to network and benefit from the free workshops.”

The Rosemont College Book Festival will take place at Connelly Green on the Rosemont College campus. In case of rain, it will be held in the Alumnae Hall Gymnasium. For more information, please call Anne Willkomm at 610-527-0200 x2336 or visit www.rosemont.edu/bookfestival.
