Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Chris Dougherty has announced the appointment of Troy Chiddick as Dean of Students for the Undergraduate College at Rosemont College.
“Dean Chiddick has served in this position in an interim capacity since February, and I am delighted that he will be sharing his time and talents in the Dean’s role on a permanent basis,” says Provost Dougherty. The Dean of Students is the administrative office who is responsible for non-academic areas of student life in the undergraduate college.
"I am honored and humbled by the appointment and enthusiastic about the future,” Chiddick said. “As I have learned over the past months, the job is thoroughly energizing. The faculty, students and staff are productive, and their accomplishments make the Rosemont successful. I consider it a great privilege to serve in this position, and I look forward to helping the college move forward.”
Dean Chiddick has served in several capacities at Rosemont College. His latest responsibility was as Interim Dean of Students for the Undergraduate College. Chiddick previously directed all aspects of the Student Academic Support Center and plays a pivotal role in administrative key resources for students which include: academic advising, testing and tutoring, experiential learning, co-curricular activities and supportive services. He has also served as Co-Director of Rosemont’s Honors Program and as Director of Act 101 services.
A significant asset to students and to the College, Dean Chiddick’s rich background in the business world as a program developer, senior accountant and manager of finance, have enabled him to serve on many committees including the Finance Committee for Rosemont’s Strategic Plan development and the Academic Standing Committee.
A graduate of Villanova University, with a degree in Accounting, Dean Chiddick is also an alumnus of Rosemont College, having earned an M.B.A. At Rosemont he also pursued a concentration in Leadership and Training – skills which he continues to share with students and the college community as a whole.
Dean Chiddick was also the recipient of the Rosemont College Community Spirit Award in 2012. This is the highest award bestowed by the College on its employees.
