  • Pat McElroy Named Soccer Player of Week

    Senior Pat McElroy scored four goals for the Ravens, as they went 3-0 on the week, including a 2-0 mark in CSAC play. On Wednesday against Centenary, McElroy scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 83rd minute, as the Ravens came back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to score a 3-2 win.

  • Whalen Named Soccer Player of the Week

    Freshman Lauren Whalen had a big week for the Ravens, totaling 13 points (6 goals, 1 assist) as Rosemont went 2-1. After scoring the Ravens’ lone goal in their 2-1 loss to Cabrini on Tuesday, Whelan scored three of the Ravens’ four goals in the 4-0 conference win over Cairn on Thursday.

  • Ravens Games 9/23/11

    It’s pouring outside right now, but the Ravens are still scheduled to play tomorrow. The volleyball team (0-3, 1-7 CSAC) will be indoors (!) for their match against the Marywood Pacers (1-1, 6-5 CSAC) at Alumnae Hall at noon. Also at home tomorrow is the women’s soccer team (2-3, 1-2 CSAC) hosting the Cyclones of Centenary College (3-3, 1-0 CSAC). The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm.

  • Busy Day for Ravens Athletics Tomorrow (SATURDAY, 09/10)

    Rosemont’s Cross Country, Women’s Tennis, Women’s Soccer and Men’s Soccer teams will all be in action tomorrow and most will be playing at home. The home schedule starts on the tennis courts behind McShain where the Women’s Tennis team (0-2) will take on the Pacers of Marywood University (1-0) in a CSAC match. The first match will begin at noon. The Women’s and Men’s Soccer teams will be playing a doubleheader on the playing field behind Kaul Hall. The women (1-1) get things rolling at 1:00pm when they open their CSAC schedule against the Keystone College Giants (1-0-1). After that the men (2-0) will face the Widener University Pride (2-1) in a non-conference game scheduled to begin at 3:00pm. Concessions at the soccer doubleheader will be sold by members of Rosemont’s Men’s Lacrosse team. The Cross Country team will also be in action tomorrow at the Crimson Eagle Invitational, hosted by Philadelphia Biblical University beginning at 10:00am. The weather looks to be improving, so hopefully Saturday will be a great day to take in some Ravens action. LET’S GO RAVENS!!!

    Congratulations to sophomore Klarisse Torriente on being named to the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) women's cross country honor roll for the week ending September 4, 2011. Torriente finished first in the Messiah Invitational, completing the 3K course in 11:40, 12 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

  • Men's Soccer wins second straight to start season

    Two goals from junior Rodney Aguirre and one from freshman Luke McIlvanie propelled the Ravens to a 3-2 victory over Delaware Valley College Saturday. The win places Rosemont's overall record at 2-0, the first time in the three-year history of the program that they have won their first two games of the season. The Ravens return to the road on Wednesday when they take on Moravian College.

    Each year, up to nearly four million sports related concussions occur in the United States. For those ages 15 to 24, sports are the second leading cause of traumatic brain injury behind only motor vehicle accidents. While these statistics may be startling, a quick and appropriate response to a concussion can greatly reduce the risk of serious injury.
