“Philosophy begins in wonder,” says Socrates in one of Plato’s later dialogues.

But this wonder does not mean idle curiosity, he adds; rather it’s the seriousness of purpose of a puzzled mind, disquieted enough that it sets out on a philosophical journey-- a life of questioning and searching for truths.

Socrates liked to compare himself to a midwife (his mother was one).

Lace Up Your Sneakers

On Sunday, April 27 Rosemont College will host Dina’s Run & Walk, a 5K event to benefit the Dina Faith Rosenberg Scholarship Fund.

Breeze through the warm-up, walk or run the 5K loop of our beautiful campus and the surrounding neighborhood, and enjoy snacks and refreshments – all as you revel in the fact that you are raising money to benefit a deserving student of the Undergraduate Women’s College!

  • 8:00 a.m. Registration
  • 9:00 a.m. Run Begins
  • 9:30 a.m. Walk Begins
  • $30 registration fee in advance ($35 day of registration)
  • $20 per student w/ID or a Team of 10 students for $100

Shirts will be given to the first 200 registrants!

The Dina Faith Rosenberg Scholarship was established by Toby and Herb Rosenberg and Solita Hanna ’86 in memory of their daughter and friend, Dina Faith Rosenberg, who lost her courageous battle with multiple myloma at the age of 40. The Scholarship benefits a Rosemont student of the Undergraduate Women’s College who plans to study and/or pursue the field of communication, an industry into which Dina poured her spirit, energy, and love of life.
