Q.

What furnishings are provided?

A.

All double rooms contain: 2 twin beds (mattresses and box springs), 2 desks w/chairs, 2 dressers w/mirrors, closet space for each student, and internet access. Mattresses are provided, but pillows and linens are not. Everything that a student finds in a room must stay in the room. Furniture may not be moved from the room, as there are no available storage spaces.

What is the size of each room?

A.

The following measurements are approximate: Kaul - 12' 5" x15' 7", Connelly/Heffernan/Gracemere: Room sizes vary widely. Note: Connelly Hall is carpeted. All other residence halls are not; students are welcome to bring carpeting if they so choose.

Am I allowed to have appliances?

A.

The following electrical appliances are authorized for use in student rooms (provided that they are in good working order): radio/stereo, television, desk lamp (no greater than 60 watt bulb), coffee maker (automatic shut off), clock, fan, hair dryer (portable), refrigerator (4.0 cu. ft. maximum), microwave (Energy Star), personal computers (must have anti virus software and surge protector), and powerstrips.


Students may not have:
Extension cords
Halogen Lamps
Toaster/Oven
Mini grills
George Foreman grills
Any cooking appliances
Crock Pots

Q.

Can I access the internet from my room?

A.

Yes, students have access to the internet in their rooms. Information will be provided when the student arrives on campus and through mailings throughout the summer months.

Q.

How do I sign up for cable tv?

A.

Contact Comcast Cable at 215.673.6600. Inform them you are a Rosemont College resident student and would like to sign up for a cable plan. Students are responsible for all bills and discontinuing service at the end of the semester. Cable representatives are also on campus during the first two weeks of the fall semester.

Is there storage space available?

A.

No, personal storage is not offered. We do not currently have available storage space.

Q.

Who does the cleaning?

A.

Housekeepers are employed by the College to clean hallways, bathrooms, lounges, and all public areas. Students should bring cleaning supplies for their own rooms.

Q.

Are laundry machines available for student use?

A.

Washers and dryers are located in laundry rooms in the residence halls. The machines are coin operated.
