Application for Graduate Assistantship 2006– 2007
Applicants must be fully accepted into a master’s degree program. Candidates who are pursuing certification only, or who are provisionally accepted, are not eligible.
Awards are based upon promise and/or achievement in the student’s program of study, as well as the expertise and availability to fulfill the work requirements associated with the award. Interviews are required.
Graduate assistants receive one course tuition waiver per semester and fulfill a work requirement of 10 hours per week during each semester of the award. Work assignments are based upon program needs; award recipients maintain and submit a weekly log, detailing the work they undertake and the time they spend on each assignment.
Award recipients are reviewed annually; awards may be renewed, for a maximum of two years, dependent upon satisfactory work performance and demonstrated scholarship within the program.
Candidates must complete an Application for Graduate Assistantship, request an interview and a letter of recommendation from the program director/co-director, and submit all materials to the Office of Graduate Studies. The deadline for fall applications is July 1st; the deadline for spring applications is December 1st.
