You will be covering all aspects of the audiology industry by writing feature stories, acquiring artwork and photography and interviewing professionals in addition to compiling and editing material for the magazine and accompanying website. Light travel, up to 5 times a year, is required to cover conferences and other meetings relevant to the professionals in this field.

Requirements
The ideal candidate is a motivated, team player with strong reporting, writing, editing and project management skills. A Bachelors degree in English or Journalism is strongly preferred in addition to at least 3 years experience reporting and writing (preferably on a daily newspaper and/or medical trade publications). We seek a highly organized and creative Design Manager to manage and create a diverse
range of print and electronic designs for consumer, organizational, and commercial use. The full-time Design Manager reports to the Executive Director and will work collaboratively with all Campus Philly program and support staff to prioritize and complete Campus Philly’s art assignments.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create and manage diverse print and electronic designs, including:
• Print marketing materials (posters, flyers, advertisements) to support Campus Philly
student programs including www.campusphilly.org, the Campus Philly Kick-Off
festival, as well as Campus Philly’s community, career, and other student
engagement programs
• Corporate identity communications materials (print and electronic) to promote
Campus Philly’s mission, research, and fundraising initiatives
• Advertisements for clients of Campus Philly’s print and web media and special events
• Print designs for Campus Philly Notebook publications (twice annual)
• Manage production orders and scheduling for print and online media, including vendor
research, e-mail scheduling, photography, and printer relations
• Recruit, hire and manage student interns, freelance designers, or other consultants needed
to implement Campus Philly’s design assignments
• Collaborate with publishing partners for designs targeting college student prospects and their
parents
• Support client communications as necessary to fulfill client advertising obligations
• Other duties as appropriate to further Campus Philly’s mission

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; Two-three years minimum work experience (or equivalent) as a graphic designer in a commercial or nonprofit setting. Candidate must exhibit mastery of relevant software programs, including Adobe Creative Suite. Basic HTML knowledge required, with Flash and Javascript experience a plus. Must have experience with print production standards and print vendor management.

Top candidates should demonstrate: strong communication and project planning skills; ability
to multi-task and meet deadlines; ability to balance work on an individual basis and as a part of a team; willingness to think creatively and while maintaining a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to program implementation.

The assistant metro editor is responsible for assisting the metro/local news editor in the supervision of the metro staff. This editor plays a key role in ongoing daily and long-term planning and in the direct supervision of reporters and news assistants in the editor’s absence. Late-shift editors run the metro desk at night, working closely with the News Desk, and help plan some special projects.
