There is so much more to book publishing than putting a little black ink on paper. Find out at our two-day professional workshop, The Joys and Challenges of Book Publishing sponsored by Rosemont College's Schools of Graduate and Professional Studies, English and Publishing Program.

Geared towards all levels of experience and expertise, the workshop will guide students step-by-step through the publishing process. Topics include: the literary agent; the acquisitions editor; contract negotiations and details; publishing conglomerates, imprints and independent presses; the editorial tasks, including editing,design, and production; the marketing tools, including publicity, promotion, and advertisement; sales conferences and book fairs at home and abroad, including subsidiary rights and international sales; the finished book and the reader.

Lead by Jan-Erik Guerth, New York Independent Publisher, and members of Rosemont College's English and Publishing Faculty

The cost is $200 for both days; $150 for current students.
