Philosophy and Program Options
The MSM program offers a variety of program formats such as in-class, distance learning, weekend college, and online. The MSM is a 36-credit (12 courses) program that, if enrolled without breaks, can be completed in two years or less.
All classes are conducted through facilitative teaching methods introduced by business professionals who are experts in their fields. The focus is on critical thinking and writing, casework, collaborative learning, participant presentations, and problem solving. A diverse student body consisting of businessmen/women, nurses, engineers, artists, teachers, and government employees provides a versatile learning experience for an individual from any background.
Students are permitted to transfer up to six credits into the program; however; all transfer credits are subject to approval by the Dean of Graduate and Continuing Studies. Rosemont College also offers graduate-level certificate programs that are available to individuals with an accredited undergraduate degree. The certificate programs are designed for middle- to upper-level management professionals.
Master of Science in Management (MSM)
All business, regardless of fiduciary responsibility and organizational structure, is based upon relationships. All successful relationships have two seemingly disparate but interrelated parts, that is, a social and economic entity. The MSM program is focused on the interdisciplinary nature of that social relationship.
Rosemont College's accelerated MSM degree provides adult learners with knowledge and skills needed in consideration of management principles and styles as well as organizational behavior. The MSM is aligned with the behavioral, psychological, and sociological aspects of business.
Adult learners selecting the MSM program typically respond well to an educational environment that highlights:
- The integration of the historical context of business with its contemporary operational processes
- The ability to examine and define problems in behavior-based, organizational terms
- The ethical and administrative responsibilities of the business enterprise
