Philosophy and Program Options
The graduate English literature faculty warmly welcome your interest in our program. We believe that there has never been a more exciting time to explore the rich field of English literature and to extend your love of the written word through advanced graduate study.
Our coursework builds on a solid foundation in literature and our faculty members have the academic expertise to guide you through your course of study. As a student, you will discover the rich traditions of literature, and gain invaluable insights into the dynamics of creative self-expression with instructors who strive to bring vital, dynamic new viewpoints to the literature classroom.
We understand that you are a busy adult with many other commitments in your life, so we keep our course scheduling as flexible as possible. We meet in the evenings and on weekends throughout the calendar year. Our classes are small and our approach is personal. Program graduates have been highly successful in obtaining and advancing their careers as teachers and writers, and in advancing to doctoral studies in literature.
