Philosophy and Program Options
Members of the graduate education faculty warmly welcome your interest in our programs. In keeping with our missions, we seek to prepare professional educators who are committed to making a difference in and through education. Our programs strive to develop reflective thinkers with scholarly habits of mind and the values and attitudes necessary for responsible, ethical leadership in educating future generations.
You'll discover that we offer a number of program options:
- In an accelerated format, you may choose to earn your M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction and complete the requirements for Pennsylvania State Department of Education Instructional I Certification in Elementary Education- all in as little as 15 months.
- You may choose to earn either Pennsylvania State Department of Education Certification in Elementary Education or your M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction as stand-alone credentials.
- Finally, you may choose to earn graduate credits for professional development, Act 48 credits, or to maintain and update your credentials.
We understand that you are a busy adult with many other commitments in your life, so we keep our course scheduling as flexible as possible. We meet in the evenings throughout the calendar year. Our classes are small and our approach is personal. Program graduates have been highly successful in obtaining professional employment as teachers and administrators in the public and private schools.
Please consider joining us at Rosemont. We look forward to talking with you soon!
