Ron Davies is the director of the graduate education program. He has served as a classroom teacher, elementary principal, assistant high school principal, supervisor of K-12 curriculum and many other functions in the education field. More

Our faculty members are dedicated educators and practitioners with a genuine commitment to teaching at the graduate level. Our belief is that students will more readily acquire meaningful skills and knowledge when they are actively involved in the learning process through research projects, discussions, simulations, field experiences, and practice teaching sessions.
Gail Apfel earned her B.A. in History with certifications in Elementary Education and Social Studies from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her M.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and certifications as a reading specialist and elementary school principal. In 1989-1990, under her leadership, Stonehurst Hills School in the Upper Darby School District, was designated a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. At Penn Wynne School in the Lower Merion School District, Ms. Apfel was part of a team that implemented an innovative autistic support program. From 2002-2005, she served on the board of the Principals’ Center at Harvard University. Ms. Apfel supervises student teachers at Rosemont College and West Chester University. Her instructional, curricular, and leadership experiences reflect a strong commitment to inclusive, diverse school communities, balanced literacy programs, differentiated instruction, and the mentoring of beginning teachers.
Robin Beaver earned a B.S. in Sociology from Rosemont College and an M.L.S. from Drexel University. She holds a school library certification in Pennsylvania. She has worked as a school social worker, school librarian, and director of technology in both Pennsylvania and Delaware. She is currently the Instructional Technology Specialist at Rosemont School of the Holy Child. Professor Beaver has led numerous professional development workshops and presented at professional conferences such as the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Conference, the National Educational Computing Conference, the National Curriculum Mapping Institute, and the K12 Online Conference. She has co-written and article for the ISTE publication Learning and Leading with Technology and served as a 21st Century Fellow for a Powerful Learning Practice Cohort.
Tina De Liberato earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from West Chester State College and her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University. She is a Fellow for the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project (PAWLP) at West Chester University. During her thirty-three year career with the Coatesville Area School District, Tina taught at a variety of levels that include K-5, Middle school Language Arts and reading, Gifted education, and also new teacher mentor. Since retiring from the public school system, Tina is a Teacher-consultant for PAWLP where she has presented teacher in-service workshops, coordinated the graduate course, “Strategies for Teaching Writing 4-12”, and was the teacher and site coordinator for Young Writers/Young Readers at West Chester University. Outside of her contributions to public education, Tina enjoys swimming, reading, and Zumba.
Ann Eves earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in music education at West Chester University. She taught elementary classroom music in Haverford Township School District for more that thirty-eight years. Since 1986 she has been the choir director at Hope United Methodist Church (formerly Ebenezer United Methodist Church) in Havertown. Beginning in the fall of 2008, Ann has been a member of the faculty at Eastern University where she supervises music student teachers and teaches practicum. In addition she gives violin lessons at her home studio. Ann began teaching at Rosemont College in the summer of 2009.
Richard Fox earned his Ed.D. from Saint Joseph’s University, his Master’s in Education School Leadership from Villanova University, and his M.S. in Elementary Education from Duquesne University. His B.A., from Point Park College, is in History. Dr. Fox currently teaches a fifth grade class in the Lower Merion School District. His experience includes teaching students in the third and fourth grades as well. Rick enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing, as well as visiting historical sites like Revolutionary and Civil War Battlefields.
Roseanne Kane Fulmer is an adjunct professor at Rosemont College. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education at Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, PA, and her M.S. in Elementary Education with a reading certification from St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA. She taught elementary education for seven years at St. Thomas-Good Counsel School, Bryn Mawr, PA. In 1989, she began teaching fifth grade at Cynwyd Elementary School in Lower Merion School District and continues teaching there. Dr. Fulmer earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration with Principal Certification at Immaculata University in May 2006. At Cynwyd, Dr. Fulmer serves as a mentor teacher, recess captain, and member of CARE (Committee to Address Race in Education) and Cultural Proficiency.
Priscilla S. Kinney earned a B.A. from Allegheny College and a M.Ed. from Temple University. She is a career special education teacher in the Abington School District where she also serves on numerous committees and provides professional development for new teachers. She is a consultant for the Everyday Math Program and has presented at numerous state and local math conferences. Ms. Kinney was the recipient of the 1997 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. She was a 2005 Philadelphia Phillies Teacher honoree. She serves on the Board of Summerbridge of Greater Philadelphia and does volunteer work with the Abington Police Department.
Mark Marinello earned his B.S. in Health and Physical Education from Temple University, including a minor in coaching and his M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Cabrini College. Professor Marinello earned national certification in coaching from the American Sport Education Program. He has been an Adunct Professor at Montgomery County Community College since 1999 teaching Physical Education major courses. Professor Marinello began teaching Health and Physical Education at Abington Junior High School in 1997. In 2006, he was reassigned to teach Physical Education at Copper Beech Elementary School. At Copper Beech, Professor Marinello annually facilitates: Shape-up recess, all school Halloween Parade, Turkey Bowl football tournament, Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart events, Fitness assessments and Field Day.
Mary Jane Meconi earned a B.A. in Art with certification in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College, a M.S. in Special Education from Richmond College of the City of New York, and a 6thYear Certificate in Administration and Supervision from College of Staten Island of the City of New York with certification in School Adminstrator/Supervisor with the state of New York. She served as an Early Childhood Teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal on Staten Island with the New York City Department of Education for twenty-six years. Currently, she is supervising Student Teachers at Rosemont College. Aside from her career, Mary Jane is actively involved with the Girl Scouts and serves on many Girl Scout Committees for the Greater New York and Eastern Pennsylvania Councils. She is chair of the United Nations New York Team for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
Janice Merendino earned her B.F.A. in Fine Arts and B.S. in Art Education from Moore College of Art and Design. She has been part of the faculty of Rosemont College since 1980. As creator of The Branch Out Project, Janice conducts workshops in which participants who learn how to draw can use the thinking process to help them become more creative in their problem-solving. She has given her workshops for major corporations and government agencies (including the US Navy, Wyeth-Ayerst, and TIAA-CREF). Additionally, numerous community non-profit groups and schools have benefited from these concepts. She coauthored two articles on using the arts to stimulate creative thinking in law practices. In 2002 and 2003 The Branch Out Project received a Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership Grant to work with the Roosevelt Alternative School in Norristown, PA. Janice is a practicing artist and has exhibited her paintings on paper and ceramic work in several group and solo shows, including a one-woman exhibition in Japan.
Steven Portman earned his Ed.D. from Widener University and his M.S. in Education from St. Joseph’s University. His B.A. is in English from Rutgers University. He holds a certification in Elementary Education in both PA and NJ, as well as a PA certification as a Reading Specialist. Dr. Portman was honored as a finalist for the New Jersey Commissioner’s Certificate of Teaching Excellence and cited by the House of Representatives for integrating technology and instruction in relation to problem-solving projects linked to real-world contexts. Dr. Portman has also been listed in Who’s Who Among American Teachers. He was one of 12 finalists for the PA State Teacher of the Year and is a STAR (U.S. Department of Education) recipient for teaching excellence. Dr. Portman is an instructor in the Governor’s School of Teaching Excellence and a national award winner for his creative use of filmmaking in the classroom. He also teaches fifth grade in the Abington School District.
Robert Salladino holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University and a Master of Education from Cabrini College. Dr. Salladino’s undergraduate degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in History, both from Cabrini College. Dr. Salladino’s sixteen-year career in public education has occurred entirely at the middle level. He taught mathematics in the Lower Merion School District for six years before moving on to serve as an assistant principal in the Abington School District. Currently, Dr. Salladino is the Principal fo the Owen J. Roberts Middle School in Chester County. Dr. Salladino is passionate about middle-level education and is actively involved in professional organizations that focus on providing meaningful and challenging curriculum and instruction for early adolescent learners. For the last several years, Dr. Salladino has also taught courses within the Department of Graduate and Professional Studies at Cabrini Cllege. OUside of his professional life, Dr. Salladino enjoys spending time with his family and following his favorite baseball team, the Philadelphia Phillies.
Louis A. Tenaglia earned his Doctor of Spiritual Science and Psychology degree from Peace Theological Seminary in Santa Monica California in June of 2007. He completed his Masters in Spiritual Psychology from the same seminary in June of 2001. He has his Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility in PA from Arcadia University. He completed his Principal’s Certification from Rider College. He has an M.Ed. in Elementary Educaiton and his B.S. in Elementary Education from Penn State University. Lou served as an elementary teacher and prinipal for 31 years in the public schools of Bucks County, PA. Lour also serves as a Chief Reader and Scoring Trainer for Educational Testing Services Principals Certification Assessment in Princeton, NJ. Lou developed an extensive workshop and training program for teachers and parents on the topic of Cooperative Discipline Strategies, which has been offered throughout the state of PA. He also maintains a private practice of counseling and coaching individuals and couples.
