| UPCOMING EVENTS
Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. For more information and to reserve tickets call Eileen Capobianchi at 610.527.0200, ext. 2274. "The Business Side of Art" lecture is designed for artists as well as those interested in learning how to incorporate the business side into their craft. The lecture will include tips about pricing, marketing, branding, public relations, and getting work shown. Garfield and her organization recognizes that having a body of great work is only part of the equation for success; this workshop will help artists learn how to get their work into the public's eye so it can be seen and bought. All guests in attendance will have the opportunity to win a free one-on-one art-career consultation with Garfield. This event is sponsored in part by Frames and Company (Newtown Square, PA), offering fine custom and do-it yourself framing since 1973. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Arts & Culture Society Bourse, awarded annually to qualified students studying the history of art and studio art.

Mission Statement
Rosemont College Arts and Culture Society
January 2006
Rosemont College undertook as its mission theme for the year 2005-06: to develop, in its community, open and critical minds and the ability to make reasoned moral decisions. Cornelia Connelly thought that these elevated tasks were rendered more concrete and more accessible through the visual and performing arts, which she championed and which form a very significant part of Rosemont College's curriculum and approach to education.
The Rosemont College Arts and Culture Society seeks to extend this understanding of the arts to the community at large through its offering of a wide spectrum of art-related events, voluntarily administered by its committee members. With its revenue, the Arts and Culture Society is committed to funding scholarships for gifted and qualified students of the history of art and studio art. These scholarships will aid those students to travel, study, research, and understand the visual arts.
As Cornelia Connelly advised, we must never think we have done enough but keep moving on, making new beginnings, and continually growing. The Arts and Culture Society is committed to sponsoring this environment of giving and growing within the Rosemont College community.
