The Gettysburg Cyclorama

Note: Price includes transportation, lunch, guest speaker, ticket to Cyclorama exhibit, and guided bus tour of the Gettysburg National Military Park.
Join us as we travel to Gettysburg, PA for a day of historical and artistic investigation. We will begin our day with a luncheon and discussion at the historic Gettysburg Hotel’s bistro, One Lincoln, featuring award-winning journalist and WHYY Executive Director of News and Civil Dialogue Chris Satullo. Then, we’ll take a short trip to the Gettysburg National Military Park for an examination and appreciation of the Gettysburg Cyclorama, a painting of staggering dimensions and haunting detail by French artist Paul Philippoteaux. Our final event will be a personal, guided bus tour by a Gettysburg Park Ranger. It’s sure to be an exciting and informative experience!
About Chris Satullo
Chris Satullo is vice president for news and civic dialogue at WHYY. He joined the public media service in 2008 after nearly 20 years at the Philadelphia Inquirer. There he served as editorial page editor and a columnist, among various other positions. He founded the paper's Citizen Voices program of civic dialogues on public issues, and in 2006 co-founded the Penn Project for Civic Engagement at the University of Pennsylvania. He has won more than 50 awards for columns, editorials, reporting and civic engagement. Before joining the Inquirer, he worked at the Express newspaper in Easton, Pa., where he was assistant managing editor and wrote a syndicated column. A graduate of Williams College and a former Fulbright Fellow, he lives in Montgomery County, PA.
