Society of the Holy Child Jesus http://www.shcj.org Since the Society was founded in 1846, education has always been at the heart of our mission. The educational philosophy of our foundress, Cornelia Connelly, was quite controversial during her lifetime in the 1800s. However, today it is widely accepted and continues to form the foundation of all Holy Child Schools.
A key component of the Holy Child Mission is to respond to the changing needs in our world. So it makes sense that just a year after the 19th Amendment passed, which gave women the right to vote, the sisters founded Rosemont College to educate young women. |
