Resume Writing with William McCray

This session will teach you how to customize your resume to target a specific employer or industry, and to conduct job research to identify essential content. Learn to recognize the difference between tasks and skills, how to provide link efforts to outcomes, and ultimately, the best way to create a link between the content of your resume and interview responses.

William McCray assists job seekers with resume development, interview preparation, social media, skill assessments and training, and strategies for career advancement in his current role at EDSI (Educational Data Systems, Inc.). He previously worked as a training coordinator for ConocoPhillips, and taught courses in the process technology certificate program at Delaware County Community College. A Rosemont alumnus, he earned a bachelor’s degree in human resource management in 2000, and a master’s degree in training and development in 2003. He also holds a Society for Human Resource Management certificate from Villanova University.

Shannon Kelly has worked in Career Services at the University of Pennsylvania since 2007, and currently serves as Associate Director. She works directly with employers, and manages the office's social media strategy and accounts. Her different roles bring a dynamic perspective to career counseling, recognizing the impact of social media in a job/internship search today and understanding what employers are looking for in a candidate. Before joining Penn, Shannon served in AmeriCorps in rural Massachusetts working with youth. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a master’s degree in higher education management from Penn's Graduate School of Education.
