The Cornelian Service Corps strives to offer service opportunities open to all members of the Rosemont community and accommodating of different schedules, interests, and abilities. We are dedicated to offer at least one service event a month for those interested in taking an afternoon or evening giving of themselves for others and living out the Rosemont mission.
Special Events Include
Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
Along with learning about the issues of hunger and homelessness through speakers and special activities, the CSC will offer opportunities to work with those combating and living in homelessness in Philadelphia. This week will take place from November 14th – November 19th.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
To mark the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., and the birthday of our very own Cornelia Connelly, the CSC organizes a campus-wide day of service. Students, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to make this a “day on, not a day off” and work in local food pantries, schoolyards, and on the Rosemont campus to live out the spirit of the civil rights leader and our own heritage. This day will take place on January 17, 2011.
Spring Cleaning Day of Service
Rosemont members will travel to sites in the city to help get ready for spring by painting, cleaning lots, and doing other projects around schools and other facilities. This is a great way to embrace the coming change of season with a few hours of good work and fresh air! This event will occur in April.
