List of Academic Honors Day Winners

Select students from Rosemont College were recently honored at the annual Academic Honors Day on April 22, 2017. Starting at 10:30am for the Undergraduate College (UC), followed by the Schools of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) at 2:00pm, students from all across campus were honored for their achievements in the classroom.

Starting with the Undergraduate College, President Sharon Hirsh, PhD ’70 and other collegiate dignitaries recognized the newest members of Kistler Honor Society, Delta Epsilon Sigma, and those who were listed as Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Elizabeth Walton ’18 was the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Junior Award and Emily Javitt ’17 received the Presidential Medal.

The ceremony for the Schools of Graduate and Professional Studies also included students listed as Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, but had other honor societies and awards including Alpha Sigma Lambda, Lambda Alpha Epsilon and Outstanding Achievement at the Graduate Level.

The SGPS ceremony also included specialty award recipients such as the Undergraduate Faculty of the Year (Robert Obringer), Charles James O’Donnell Art Award (Tara Rupiper), James Edward O’Donnell Literature Award (Jennifer Weaver Rieger), Lily Foundation MFA Award (Brandon Hartman), and award for Distinguished Teaching at the Graduate Level (Erin Smith-Delss).

Guests were also delighted to hear speeches from the 2016 Undergraduate Faculty of the Year (Alfredo Lopez) and 2016 Distinguished Teacher at the Graduate Level (Abbey Wexler). The Presidential Medals were awarded to Deborah Nicoletti ’17 (Professional Studies) and Mark Monroe ’17 (Graduate Studies).

 

Rosemont College congratulates all who received awards at Academic Honors Day as well as those who helped them reach these significant milestones!
