Awards and Recognition



Admissions Committee
The responsibility of the Admissions Committee shall be to actively engage alumni in supporting the initiatives of the College in the promotion and recruitment of students to all schools of Rosemont College.

The Development Committee
The responsibility of the Development Committee, working with the Office of Institutional Advancement, shall be to encourage alumni giving to achieve or exceed annual goals established by the College. These goals include both increasing the participation level within each school of the college and increasing the overall level of alumni funding. The Committee may be requested to assume a leadership role in fundraising initiatives and to interact with the designated class and school representatives as deemed appropriate by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

Alumni Programs & Events Committee
The responsibility of the Alumni Programs & Events Committee shall be to:
  1. develop an implement programs and events that encourage networking among alumni;
  2. extend the resources of the College to alumni in certain areas, e.g. career services, distance learning; and
  3. support alumni in heightening awareness of Rosemont College in the communities where they live and work.

Student Programs & Events Committee
The responsibilities of the Student Programs & Events Committee shall be to:
  1. develop and implement programs and events that support retention of the students and College;
  2. make the alumni members available as a resource to the students, particularly in the area of mentoring and career development; and
  3. celebrate students as members of the Rosemont community and welcome them into their role as active and contributing alumni.

Communications Committee
The responsibilities of the Communications Committee, working with the College shall be to:
  1. support the timely and informative communication of the College's endeavors to all alumni;
  2. foster communication among alumni and among alumni and the College;
  3. utilize all modes of communication, e.g. print and electronic, to reach the broadest possible base of alumni;
  4. jointly with the Alumni Programs & Events Committee support alumni in heightening awareness of Rosemont College in the communities where they live and work; and
  5. Prepare and ensure distribution of the Annual Report of the Alumni Association at Reunion Weekend.M.

Nominating, Board Development and Recognition Committee
The Chair of the Nominating, Board Development and Recognition Committee is the Secretary of the Association. The responsibilities of the Nominating/Board Membership Committee shall be to:
  1. prepare and present a slate of candidates for Directors of the Association to the membership at least six weeks in advance of the Annual Meeting and oversee the tabulation of ballots and announcement of results;
  2. develop the slate of Officer candidates, schedule and oversee the election of Officers by the Board of Directors;
  3. working with the Executive Committee, present opportunities for Board development;
  4. administer the alumni awards programs which currently include the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Bonnie Hilfrety Freney Memorial Award. This administration includes documentation of nomination criteria, development of the candidate slate for review and voting for award recipients by the Board of Directors, and maintenance of the listing of annual award recipients.
  5. expand the recognition of alumni and celebration of accomplishments through the review and recommendation to the Board of Directors of new alumni awards and recognition programs; and
  6. participate as appropriate in the Rosemont College Alumni Association Scholarship program

Alumni Community Service Committee
The responsibility of the Alumni Community Service Committee is to support alumni in visibly demonstrating the College's core value of service by:
  1. encouraging alumni to participate in community service projects organized by the Association;
  2. managing the annual National Community Service Week;
  3. strengthening relationships with all members of the Rosemont community to build joint participation in community service projects; and
  4. through communication and recognition, encourage community service by all alumni in the communities where they live and work.
