Teachers who learn to engage the hearts and minds of students are successful in their careers. Rosemont’s focus on individual mentoring and small class size give our students the room to explore their strengths and what they will bring to their future classroom.
Rosemont offers a BS in Elementary Education with a PK-4 Track and a BS in Elementary Education with a combined PK-4 Track and Special Education PK-8 Track.
Rosemont majors that offer teaching certificate tracks include Art (PK-12), Biology (7-12), Chemistry (7-12), English (7-12), History/Social Studies (7-12), Mathematics (7-12) and Spanish (PK-12).
Our students are immersed from their first year of study in the field through classroom observation allowing them to develop their own unique teaching style. The education program will provide students with one-to-one guidance and preparation for elementary, middle, secondary education, special education, adult literacy career options, and many more.
Students receive one-to-one mentoring beginning the first year with the Director of Education.
Beginning freshman year, students are exposed to elementary, middle and secondary education classrooms. Field experience in classroom settings begins with acceptance into the program.
Students have completed their student teaching requirements in Lower Merion, Colonial, Haverford, Central Bucks, Radnor and Norristown School Districts. Opportunities are also available for placement in an urban setting such as the School District of Philadelphia.
