Creative Writing

The graduate creative writing program at Rosemont College is unique for a number of reasons. We offer tracks in both poetry and prose, and in prose, students can choose concentrations in creative non-fiction, short fiction, writing for children and adults, novel writing, and dramatic writing. Rosemont publishes Rathalla Review, our literary magazine which students have opportunity to write for and run. Because students in the creative writing program are interested in the publishing industry and vice versa, Rosemont created a 60-credit double degree that awards an MA in publishing and an MFA in creative writing.

Additionally, all our faculty members are published and continue to gain experience in their respective fields. Other distinctive aspects of our program include the availability of graduate assistantships and the exciting literature seminars and monthly readings we plan every year. While seminars focus on how writers write, our monthly readings give students the opportunity to read their work aloud to fellow students and community members.
