Prayer and Spirituality
Cultivating a healthy spirituality requires that we set aside sacred time to listen to God's Holy Spirit and encounter the living Lord in prayer. The religious and spiritual growth of all members of the Rosemont College Community is supported and nurtured by the Campus Ministry staff. We offer a wide variety of opportunities for members of the College to expand on their own personal religious, spiritual and prayer lives.
Current Prayer and Spirituality Opportunities Offered by Campus Ministry Include:
|
Bible Study This is a time to embrace God's Word and see how that Word is active in the world today. We would love for you to come and share your perspective on the weekly biblical readings. It would be most interesting to discuss the teachings of Christ in a way that Rosemont students can relate to. Faith Sharing Groups Students are encouraged to get involved in the faith life of the Rosemont campus by coming together as a community and growing in faith along side one another. We would like to organize a number of faith sharing groups depending on student interest and scheduling needs. Faith sharing groups often enable students to deepen their relationships with their peers and come to understand their relationship with God through a new lens. Weekend Retreats (Fall and Spring) This retreat allows student to spend a weekend in prayer and reflection with other students in the Rosemont College Community. These retreats are held once a semester in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. Busy Person's Retreat This retreat is perfect for the person who is usually "too busy" for retreats. Typically, it only consists of an hour a day, and a daily meeting with a spiritual director who will guide you through out the week. This is a wonderful time to make room for God in your busy life! |

RCIA Information
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the sacramental process through which adults seeking full membership in the Catholic Church are initiated into the faith community.
This process entails four formation periods and three liturgical rites:
Formation Periods
Evangelization and Precatechumenate: Demonstrates what is to live out the Good News as a member of the Catholic Church.Catechumenate: Provides a well-rounded experience of what it means to be a mature Catholic, including message, community, service, and worship. Enlightenment: A time of spiritual reflection and discernment in preparation of the celebration of the Easter Sacraments. Mystagogia: A time of reflection on the mysteries of membership in the Catholic Church.
Liturgical Rites
Rite of Acceptance: The inquirer requests entrance into the order of catechumens and becomes a member-in-training for the Catholic Church. Rite of Election: The catechumen comes before the bishop and is accepted for membership in the community and prepares to make the final decision to enter the Catholic Church. Rite of Initiation: The elect becomes a full member of the Community through the reception of the Easter Sacraments.
The Rosemont College Community invites all of our family members and friends who are not full members of Catholic Church into the RCIA process. The RCIA process is headed by a team of faithful who will walk together with you, on your faith journey. The RCIA process at Rosemont College is a casual and intimate experience where we share our faith experiences, examine the tenets of the Catholic Tradition, and experience the specific ways the Catholic Church lives out the Gospel Message. Those interested in the RCIA program are encouraged to contact Joshua Snyder at 610-527-0200 x2412 or jsnyder@rosemont.edu for more information.
