Assistant Professor of EducationRosemont College, located in suburban Philadelphia, is a community of learners dedicated to excellence and joy in the pursuit of knowledge. Since 1921, thousands of students have benefited as recipients of an education from the world's only Catholic college offering Cornelia Connelly's "solid education" - one grounded in the liberal arts, but focused on developing the unique gifts of each person. The Undergraduate College of Rosemont College is seeking a full-time faculty member in Education for a non-tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking an individual with demonstrated background in special education and student assessment, as well as experience in both urban and suburban schools and districts. This faculty position entails responsibility for teaching courses in the education discipline, including: Development of Education in the United States, Special Education, and Student Assessment. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach courses in Rosemont College's new General Education program. A full-time load is 12 credit hours; approximately 4 courses per semester. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate is expected to contribute in scholarship and service as defined by the Boyer model. The successful candidate will also be required to serve as an academic advisor to students majoring in Elementary Education and to assist with reports as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. is required, as is possession of either a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility or principal's certification Prior college/university teaching experience is preferred. Adjunct Instructor - ePublishing online courseThe Graduate Publishing Program at Rosemont College, a national leader in the field, invites applications for an adjunct instructor to design and teach Introduction to ePublishing. This course will be developed in an online accelerated version to begin in March, 2010. Instructor needs to be available immediately to begin course development and design, working with professional course designers assigned by the web 2.0 instructional platform used by the College. Qualified applicants will possess significant industry experience. Qualifications include a master's degree and previous experience teaching adult college students in the publishing/design field. Adjunct Instructor - Religious StudiesThe School of Professional Studies at Rosemont College invites applications for adjunct instructors to develop and teach new General Education courses in the accelerated Bachelor's degree programs. The School of Professional Studies offers six tracks leading to the Bachelor's degree in Business, and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, for adult, working students. All courses are five weeks in duration and are offered both online and on the ground in suburban Philadelphia, Center City, and West Philadelphia. Candidates must be able to teach in any of these formats/locations. Successful candidates will be expected to teach approved new courses early in 2010.
