Assistant Professor of EducationRosemont College, located in suburban Philadelphia, is a community of learners dedicated to excellence and joy in the pursuit of knowledge. The Undergraduate College of Rosemont College is seeking a full-time faculty member in Education for a non-tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking an individual with demonstrated background in special education and student assessment, as well as experience in both urban and suburban schools and districts. This faculty position entails responsibility for teaching courses in the education discipline, including: Development of Education in the United States, Special Education, and Student Assessment. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach courses in Rosemont College's new General Education program. A full-time load is 12 credit hours; approximately 4 courses per semester. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate is expected to contribute in scholarship and service as defined by the Boyer model. The successful candidate will also be required to serve as an academic advisor to students majoring in Elementary Education and to assist with reports as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. is required, as is possession of either a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility or principal's certification Prior college/university teaching experience is preferred. Adjunct Instructor - ePublishing online courseThe Graduate Publishing Program at Rosemont College, a national leader in the field, invites applications for an adjunct instructor to design and teach Introduction to ePublishing. This course will be developed in an online accelerated version to begin in March, 2010. Instructor needs to be available immediately to begin course development and design, working with professional course designers assigned by the web 2.0 instructional platform used by the College. Managing Director of CommunicationSummary: The Managing Director of Communication is primarily responsible for projecting a positive image of Rosemont College in all internal and external communications. The Managing Director supervises the Director of Public Relations, the Director of Publications, and the Web Manager. The Managing Director is responsible for all advertising and marketing done by the College. The Managing Director works closely with the Vice President for Enrollment Management, as well as the Assistant Vice President for the Campaign for Rosemont College, and the Director of Alumni Relations. Must have superior written and oral communication skills. Bachelor's degree and previous communication management experience required. Evening and weekend work required for campus events. Applications must include writing samples. Specific duties include: 1) Development, execution, and evaluation, with appropriate respective staff, of an external communication plan and timeline for each Academic Year for a) Rosemont College, b) prospective students of the Undergraduate College, c) prospective students of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies, d) donors, friends, and alumni, e) the general public. 2) Development, execution, and evaluation, with appropriate respective staff, of an internal communication plan and timeline for a) current UC students, b) current GPS students, c) faculty, d) staff and administrators, e) trustees. 3) Oversight of the creation and implementation a new graphic identity guide based on the College's current brand. 4) Oversight of the creation and implementation key messaging based on the College's current brand. 5) Oversight of the re-development of the College's website. 6) Oversight of the integration of social media and networking tools into communication plans. 7) Oversight of all purchased advertising and promotional activities. 8) Writing, proofreading, and/or final approval of all communication material, including all publications, periodicals, press releases, web content, and official College correspondence. 9) Development and implementation of a tool for tracking project progress, and budgets (including ROI) of all communication tools, practices, and initiatives. 10) All other duties as assigned by the Vice-President for College Relations. |
Head Men's Lacrosse CoachHead Men’s Lacrosse Coach Rosemont College, a NCAA Division III and Colonial States Athletic Conference member seeks candidates for the part-time position of Head Coach, Men’s Lacrosse for the Athletics Department. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the head coach will be responsible for the organization and management of the new men’s lacrosse program. This individual must have strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills in order to teach/coach, recruit and deal with others both inside and outside the College. This is a new program as part of Rosemont College’s major strategic plan inclusive of the transition to a co-educational institution in 2009-2010. The person hired for the position will spend the remainder of the 2009-2010, and the full 2010-2011 academic years, recruiting with the intent to begin varsity competition in the 2011-2012 year. Men’s lacrosse is the only sport to be added in the third and final phase of Rosemont’s additions in the co-educational transition, and will complete our minimum sponsorships for NCAA DIII men’s sports.
