Steven M. Alessandri
Associate Professor of Psychology, Undergraduate College
Steven M. Alessandri earned his doctorate in Clinical and Developmental Psychology from Bryn Mawr College, his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Marshall University, and his B.A. from Villanova University. Dr. Alessandri is both a licensed and school certified psychologist and has held academic, research, and clinical appointments at several universities, medical schools, and mental health settings. He has written numerous scholarly papers and publications in the areas of infant and child development, child and adult psychopathology, and education. Dr. Alessandri has over 25 years of clinical experience providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults.Francis Bowe
Director of Business Programs, School of Graduate and Professional Studies
Francis “Brig” Bowe holds a B.S. in Economics and an MBA from Villanova as well as certification as a Leader of Managers from the Wharton School. He began his career after his undergraduate studies as an entrepreneur running a small contract painting business for seven years. Prior he was a senior marketing manager at Unisys Corporation where he managed a global portfolio of over $100M of annualized revenues. Brig has experience teaching higher education courses in management, finance, economics, MIS, and organizational development courses in multiple delivery formats. He came to Rosemont most recently from Cabrini College where he served as the managing supervisor of the Master’s degree in Organization Leadership.
Jeanne Hatch, SCHJ
Vice President, Office of Mission and Ministry
Sister Jeanne Marie Hatch holds a B.S. in Secondary Education from Villanova University, a master's degree in Theology/Religious Studies from La Salle University, and a master's degree in Pastoral Ministry/Spirituality from Neumann College, PA. Sister Jeanne Marie came to Rosemont in 2004 after 10 years as Vocation Director for the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and 37 years in Holy Child Schools. After teaching for 10 years, she administered schools in Philadelphia, PA, Washington, DC, Pasadena, CA and Old Westbury, NY from 1967 until 1995.
Paul Mojzes
Professor of Religious Studies, Undergraduate College
Paul Mojzes received his A.B. degree summa cum laude from Florida Southern College and Ph.D. degree from Boston University. Dr. Mojzes is the co-editor of the Journal of Ecumenical Studies, and founder and co-editor of Religion in Eastern Europe. He has written nearly 100 articles and is the author of six books including his most recent Balkan Genocides: Holocaust and Ethnic Cleansing in the Twentieth Century. Dr. Mojzes has delivered close to 300 lectures at various universities throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. Currently he serves as serves as chair of the Religious Studies and Humanities departments at Rosemont where he has taught since 1970, and where he was previously awarded the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award.
Marilyn A. Moller
Director, Teacher Education, Undergraduate College
Marilyn A. Moller graduated cum laude from Rosemont College with a B.A. in elementary education. She earned a Master’s degree (summa cum laude) in Counseling from Rider University and has done post-Masters study at the University of Pennsylvania. In May 2001 Dr. Moller received an honorary doctorate from Rosemont College. In addition, she holds teaching certificates in several fields and is certified as both an elementary and secondary principal and as a Superintendent of schools. A published author and the recipient of a number of professional awards, Dr. Moller currently serves as Director of Teacher Education, Director of “Bridge to Success,” a program tailored to meet the needs of conditionally admitted students, and as co-director of Rosemont’s Honors Program.Michelle Moravec
Associate Professor of History
Michelle Moravec graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a B.A. in History and English, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in history. Her area of specialization is American history, and her research focuses on movements for social change. Before coming to Rosemont College, she served as the assistant director of the women’s leadership program at Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles. She has taught numerous leadership courses, and has a particular interest in students’ applications of ethical leadership. Dr. Moravec has presented at numerous academic conferences, and is the author of several articles and books.
Melissa Sullivan
Assistant Professor of English, Undergraduate College
Melissa Sullivan graduated from Iona College with a B.A. in English, and earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in English at the University of Delaware. At Rosemont, she teaches nineteenth- and twentieth-century British literature and directs the First Year Seminar Program. Her research revolves around interwar cultural hierarchies and she has published articles on Virginia Woolf, Rose Macaulay and periodical culture. Dr. Sullivan was awarded the Lindback Distinguished Teaching award in 2010.
David Surratt
Dean of Students, Office of Student Affairs
David Surratt is an alumnus of the University of Oklahoma where he earned a bachelor's degree in English Literature and a master's degree in Human Relations and is currently a doctoral student in George Washington University’s Higher Education Administration program. He has worked in student affairs in higher education for nearly 10 years with more than six years of experience presenting in collegiate settings on leadership development, multiculturalism and pluralism, communication and general topics on human relations. Currently, David serves as Dean of Students, maintaining oversight of all student life for the college including residence life, athletics, student activities, orientation, counseling services, health & wellness and judicial affairs.
Joan Wilder
Director of Academic Advising and Student Retention, School of Graduate Studies
Joan Wilder graduated from LaSalle University with a B.A. in English; she earned an M.S. in Management from Rosemont College's Schools of Graduate and Professional Studies with a concentration in Arts and Cultural Management. In 2002, Joan joined the Rosemont College community as an administrator of the Schools of Graduate and Professional Studies and later became Director of the Graduate Business Programs. As director, Joan was a key force behind new curriculum development and new academic programming, including the recently launched online entrepreneurship certificate program. Joan was named Facilitator of the Year for the School of Professional Studies in 2006 and received the Distinguished Teaching Award at the Graduate Level in 2010.
